I'm rubbish... I know! Many apologies for not updating the last few weeks... I've had a crazy busy time of late BUT I do promise the site will be back properly up and running very soon. Rather than just carry on with how it is now I'm going to completely re-vamp the site, new layout, new content any everything! So I do promise it will be worth it :)
Things haven't seemed to be great for Peter lately from what I've read in the press, so I wish him all the best and hope he can overcome his demons and get well soon. There's also the exciting news about him working with Graham Coxon (read the NME's news article if you haven't already!) so hopefully things will be on the up for Pete again soon. I'm seein him in Manchester on Thursday, hopefully he won't cancel it again. So will also be able to update with loads of pics when the site re-opens... hopefully very soon!! Keep calling back, it WILL be back as soon as possible!
I'M BACK! ...AND ALSO A LITTLE ROUND-UP OF THE WEEK'S NEWS
Okay, I FINALLY have my wireless set up at my new home so should be able to work on the site a bit more now - apologies for how slow it's been around here...
I STILL have Coventry gig pics to upload... but I don't have them on my computer so I'm going to get my fella to send them to me asap so I can put them in the gallery, they're gorgeous pics so they will be worth the wait!
I went to see him in Manchester on Friday... BUT - as you're probably aware - he did a no-show. Which I was pretty gutted about after driving 4 hours from Leicester to see him in the awful Friday traffic! But that's Pete, unpredictable as ever...!
Also, you may or may not know that Carl Barat's band Dirty Pretty Things have called it a day, and obviously sparking rumours that there may be a Libertines reunion in the works. Watch this space!
Pete Doherty has posted a new song on his YouTube channel.
The video, titled 'Gracewasteland/s', features audio of the Babyshambles frontman singing a previously unreleased song aided by an acoustic guitar and harmonica.
The song is accompanied by visual footage of what appears to be Doherty's Wiltshire house, with much of the footage seemingly filmed by the singer/guitarist.
Hello! Sorry about the slow updates again... I'm actually in the process of moving house at the moment so it's all a bit hectic! I'm also recovering from having my wisdom tooth out on Thursday - very painful!!
HOWEVER! I was in Coventry last night (braving the pain, lol) to see Peter perform at the Kasbah club. He was absolutely fantastic, best gig I've seen so far from him IMO... one drawback: some complete IDIOT decided to throw a glass bottle at him during 'Fuck Forever' and, understandably, Pete was a bit upset about this and left the stage and didn't return. Thankfully he was okay and had played for about 90mins so it wasn't completely ruined. Just a shame that one person has to ruin it for everyone... *rolls eyes*
I went with my boyfriend who took some AMAZING pics!!! So will upload them today so keep checking back, honestly they're gorgeous you don't want to miss them :) I took quite a lot of videos (including Pete leaving during 'Fuck Forever') so I am going to work on uploading them to the PDO.com Youtube channel: TeamDohertyy. It takes a while to upload them so they will keep appearing throughout the day so just keep checking the channel :) There's also others on there from previous gigs (although I've just remembered I still have Albert Hall and Reading videos to upload to it!)
Babyshambles have confirmed that they will release a new album next year.
Drummer Adam Ficek told BBC 6Music that the four-piece plan to reconvene in November to begin work on their third album.
"It will definitely be out in 2009," he said. "We're choosing producers, and then in November I think we'll reconvene and really start kicking it into shape."
Hi everyone, just a little message from your friendly neighbourhood webmiss!
I just wanted to apologise for neglecting the site a little over the past couple of weeks, I have been so busy trying to set up my own little business (Pink Kitten Creations, if anyone's curious!) as well as travelling and working full-time.
I will soon deliver to you a brand new layout (yay!) and also some more content and gallery updates, as I know they've been lacking lately. Stay tuned! :)
Former Libertines bandmates Pete Doherty and Carl Barat thrilled fans as they took to the stage at a surprise reunion gig in London.
Doherty was scheduled to perform at The Prince of Wales pub in Camden, North London on Wednesday (17Sep08) for fashion label Gio-Goi - a brand the rocker has modelled for in the past.
And revellers were stunned as Doherty was joined on stage by Barat to play some of their classic tracks, as well as a rendition of Oasis' Don't Look Back In Anger.
Earlier this year (Jun08), Barat hinted that he would like to reunite with Doherty - telling reporters he "missed" the star.
The Libertines - hailed as the future of rock when they first found fame in 2002 - split acrimoniously in 2004 due to Doherty's drug addictions. He went on to form Babyshambles, with Barat fronting the Dirty Pretty Things.
Pete Doherty and his band Babyshambles wowed the crowd at the annual bash of French Communist newspaper L'Humanité, reviving memories of the days when he was better known for his music than his shambolic lifestyle. Arriving on time and dressed in a black tuxedo, Doherty greeted the 70,000-strong crowed in the Parc de la Courneuve near Paris with a "bonsoir," before his band launched into their first song La Belle et la Bęte (The Beauty and the Beast).
Doherty's well-publicized battle with drug abuse and turbulent lifestyle has seen him fail to turn up at many concerts. On stage, performances have often been erratic. Many of Doherty's Parisian devotees had flocked to La Courneuve in the hope of finally seeing him after two no-shows.
