| Have you asked a Celebrity for an autograph? | | I met Eddie George a few yers ago( ex qb for TN Titans) during a presentation he was hosting. I was star struck to say the least, and amazed at how big his legs were! I know you can see it all on my face, but he gladly autographed a bag for me once I inappropriualty asked...oops...They spot Nicole Kidman, Kid ROck, Miley Cyrus, ad tons of country music singers here everyday. They say they like Nashville because they can walk around like a normal person without being harrassed. But thats because I havent ran into them!!I just get all big eyes and mouth dropped!!So what about you? How do you feel when meeting someone famous? Do you ask for an autograph? Have you sent a letter to a celbasking for an autograph? Is getting your favorite celbs autograph important to you? | |

| If you saw a movie star eating would you stop and ask for an autograph? | | I would not ask for an autograph of a movie star if they were eating. Reasons why I would not is because they are eating and they get enough publicity walking around. I am sure they would like to eat in peace. I feel it would rude to interupt them for an autograph while eating. I would want the same respect if I were in their shoes. After they were done eating and I caught them walking around in public then I think asking for a autograph would be ok. | |
| | Are you an autograph person? Do you collect autographs? | | I was collecting autographs in my childhood. Once married everything I left. Had in-laws with me and I was a working woman. | | Has Anyone Asked You For Your Autograph? | | Irisheyes's discussion about the Palin family and autographs gave me the idea for this thread. Not that I want to make this about the Palin family, I just wanted to give inspirational kudos to where they are due.I remember the first time someone asked me for my autograph. It was at the airport in Bangor, Maine. Returning from Desert Storm, we stopped there for refuelling. There were literally thousands of people there to welcome us. We weren't from Maine, we were from Ft. Bragg, NC, but they didn't care.Bangor was the first contact back on American soil for a lot of plane loads of returning troops. The people of Bangor knew this, so they wanted us to feel welcome back home.I don't know how many times I wrote my name on papers, stuffed animals, autograph books, T-shirts, Army posters, and whatever else was put in my hands. I knew it wasn't about me, it was about my uniform and what I represented to them. Those bits of memorabilia are probably fading away somewhere in basements and attics of Bangor... much like the most the memorabilia of us vets. But I'll never forget the look in the eyes of the boys and girls, men and women who, for that few moments, wanted... | |
