Its so good you have the chocolate cake, the vanilla cake and chocolate and vanilla pudding in between the layers. Its so good. | | My son's birthday cake... check it out! | | For my son's tenth birthday, I decided to make it the theme of Bakugan as that's his interest right now and has been for the past three years or so. I made his cake as I usually do every year. I enjoy making them and decorating and seeing the smile on his face when I carry it out and sing happy birthday to you.
The cake was chocolate with double layers. I bought some Bakugans which came with the cards and used them with colored icing to decorate it. | Tips or advice for sculpting a cake? | | I'm making my husband a cake for his college graduation. I want to sculpt/carve it into a particular shape, and I was hoping that some more experienced bakers here might be able to give me some pointers. The cake will have three layers, and the shape I want to carve is not complicated. What kind of utensils should I use? Do you have any good tips to help the cake hold its shape and keep it from crumbling when I carve into it? How about tips for making it easier to ice once I'm done carving (I do not have the time, skill, or energy to make fondant and the storebought stuff is icky)? Any advice will be helpful! | |

Just which is your favourite cake and is there a special reason? | | As a diabetic cakes are something that are off my daily diet; however I do love baking and cooking them for my family.With cakes there are just so many types to choose from and I was wondering just which type people enjoy the most.We have plain sponge cakes, or ones filled with jam and cream, rich fruit cake, scones - plain and fruit or served with lashings of jam and cream, or would it be cakes made with choux patry, like chocolate eclairs, or haw about pastries like cream slices or Danish pastries then there are meringues, ginger cake, pineapple upside down cakes - I could be here all day!!My favourite cake to make is meringue, because mine always turn out so nice, crispy on the outside with a soft fondant filling but my favourite to eat I think would be a yeast bun type cake like and iced bun,bath bun or Chelsea bun.
