| getting complimentary magazine | | I have readers digest send me e-mails with the latest their online newsletters and last time they did this I had just gotten back from the Pennsylvania trip, so I was kind of brain dead at the time.I think they sent this e-mail to enter this contest, but when I clicked on it to enter, I was so out of it, I didn't realizing that by entering I was subscribing to their magazine.Now as much as I love readers digest, we get them occasionally when we can at the store. I not only can't afford it right now, but I don't have a credit card to pay for since it was an online transaction. So when I saw it, I immediately found a link to cancel my subscription and cancelled..Obviously it didn't work because I got another e-mail this morning with my bill..[em]shocked[/em] so I again went to cancel and explained why I was cancelling, that I inadvertently had subscribed and that I had tried to cancel right away when I saw what happened. | | newsweek magazine (company) is up for sale | | so sad. it had been said that its losses for 2 years is a record...just when you thought that a good thing is a good thing and meant to stand the test of time. well, then again, i'm sure somebody would buy that company. i mean, when asked what magazine/s you read it is but quite impressive to mention newsweek magazine as one of them, right? besides, maybe it is just plain wrong decision making that made the magazine lose money. had it not for its high price here in the philippines i'd regularly buy this for its worth spending time on reading. cancel right away when I saw what happened. | I need help planing a launch party for an online magazine | | For three months now, I've been working on the project of an online magazine about handmade. At the beginning of April we launched the site, and since then it became quite popular. Now we want to make a PDF version of the magazine, with the best articles from the first month. Do you have any suggestions on planning a launch party?
We already have a good location - a popular bar downtown that's offering us 2 floors and publicity for the party. But I don't know what kind of event would be best: just a regular party with screenings of the magazine on the walls or maybe a small handmade fair?
